Picture yourself volunteering
Volunteering is at the heart of our mission to share God’s love. At Luther Manor, more than 200 volunteers help make life better for older adults every day. We would love for you to be a part of this very special group of people.
As you use your time and talents to bring joy and comfort to others, you’ll benefit, too, by making friends, learning new things, and staying active and involved. You’ll teach others your skills, hear residents’ extraordinary life stories and feel connected to those around you all while doing the greater good.
Choose from a variety of volunteer opportunities:
- Special events and field trip escort
- Life enrichment program and activities partner
- Coffee cart host
- Ice cream parlor server
- Den of Antiquity resale shop clerk
- Convenience store cashier
- Caring companion visits
- Hospice companion and complementary care therapy
- Pet therapy visits
- Internal transportation services
- Student service learning volunteer program
How do I sign up?
Call us at (414) 464-3880 or submit the form below. Volunteer Service staff will contact you to schedule a “Get Acquainted” visit. During the visit, you’ll learn about Luther Manor, Volunteer Services, and we’ll learn about your interests and time availability. This ensures we find a good match for you.
Do I have to commit to a certain amount of volunteer time?
For continuity and to make the most of our time together, we request that you volunteer a minimum of 20 hours total over three months.
Do you have opportunities for groups to volunteer?
Yes, absolutely! We love working with families and organizations, large and small. However, due to the current COVID-19 health situation, we have limited service opportunities for community groups. We hope to be able to re-engage with community groups in the future.
What is the minimum age for volunteers?
Children must be 12 years of age to be eligible for volunteer service and need to complete a student volunteer application.
What kinds of volunteer opportunities are available?
We have volunteer opportunities that directly interact with the residents, department supportive tasks/projects, and service-learning experiences between our Wauwatosa and Mequon communities. We try to match your interests, skills, and time availability with the needs of residents and our communities. Call us at (414) 464-3880 or send us an email using the contact us button below.
Do you have opportunities for families to volunteer together?
All family members 12 years and older are eligible to volunteer and need to complete individual volunteer applications.
Do you accept court-ordered community service?
We refer court-ordered community service to internet volunteer referral sites to connect with a good match.
