Volunteer Services

The mission of Luther Manor is achieved with the support and partnership of dedicated volunteers, who by their nature bring a sense of home, family, community and self-worth. Volunteering at Luther Manor is a great opportunity for people beginning at age 12. We offer more than 75 volunteer positions, and it is a great way to share God's love with older adults. Volunteer Opportunities

• Adult Day Center Program Partner
  Assist Adult Day Center participants with a variety of activities, snacks and meal service, or transport to campus appointments. Share a special hobby or talent. Participate in community field trips. Friendly, caring and patient personality. Physically able to provide wheelchair transportation.
  Flexible shifts available Monday-Friday, between 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m., or on call for community field trips.
  
  
• Coffee Cart Host/Hostess
  Take a coffee cart room to room and offer residents coffee, cookies and a bit of conversation. Friendly, outgoing personality. Able to read a special diet list. Physically able to push a coffee cart through hallways.
  Shifts available Choice of Weekdays, 9 to 11 a.m.
  
  
• Den of Antiquity
  Do you enjoy bargain shopping? Put your time and talents together to help sort, organize, display and sell donated merchandise in a resale shop environment. Enjoy positive interactions between residents, family members, staff and volunteers. Make a difference is an older adult's life! All Den of Antiquity proceeds are designated to Luther Manor Foundation which supplements funding for Luther Manor residents who outlive their own financial resources.
  Flexible shifts between 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday.
  
  
• Escorts-Activity Field Trips/Off Campus Medical
  Escort residents to off-campus medical appointments. Provide socialization and reassurance during commute and while waiting for appointment. Adapted transportation provided by Luther Manor or community. Physically able to push residents in wheelchairs. Enjoy working with older adults. Patient, caring personality.

• Hospice Volunteer
  Share your gifts visiting, reading, letter writing, helping in the office or working with the bereavement program.
  Flexible schedule.
  
  
• Ice Cream Parlor Server
  Serve frosty treats and conversation to residents and guests. Volunteer in an old fashioned ice cream parlor. Friendly, outgoing personality. Comfortable with money exchange. Good customer service skills.
  Shifts available 7 days a week, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.
  
  
• Resident Transporter
  Great opportunity for walking exercise while transporting residents in wheelchairs to therapy clinic and beauty shop appointments and worship services throughout campus. Physically able to provide wheelchair transportation.
  Shifts available Monday-Friday from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. or 12:30 to 3:30 p.m., Saturday from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and Sunday from 9 to 11 a.m.
