Personhood is a standing or status that is bestowed upon one human being by others, in the context of relationship and social being, implying recognition, respect and trust. Personhood is a sense of self that is developed and maintained through our interactions and engagement with others. Luther Manor Adult Day services provide daily activities that support each individual's abilities and incorporate meaningful engagement, interaction, involvement and creativity.

Engagement and Interaction are based on the premise that a person who is interacting with the environment in a meaningful way is likely to be experiencing a more satisfying life than a person who is withdrawn or sleeping (disengaged) a lot of the time. A person is engaged if they are interacting with another person, using recreational materials, or items connected with activities of daily living. Interaction is defined as communication, verbal or non-verbal.
